Busy busy busy busy! 

You know, Hair Fair starts on the 11th? I won't be making my customary post(s) about it until the week after next though, because I'm going to Camp Hardknock in SL, on my adorable kid avatar. I had hoped to ease into this change with some posts of her, but instead, flailing and panic occurs because there are not enough hours in the day! 

Also coming so soon because it's an exciting week, Wizarding Faire! Opening July 12th. I am a massive Harry Potter fan, longtime readers (who am I kidding?) of my blog might remember my posts on the Wizarding Fair a couple of years ago, I am a Hufflepuff and I ain't even sorry. I love to decorate my house in SL with little hints about my being magical, a cauldron of potion on my stove, a stack of spellbooks as a monitor stand, and so on, so these things here from various creators at the event will my heart with ALL the joy because none of them are like "I am a thing from Harry Potter" and are more like "I am a thing magical people have" and I dig that. The plants, by the way, are amazingly animated, they are so much fun and have earned a permanent place in my home <3

This wand isn't really mine though. Mine is larch wood with a phoenix feather core.

The awesome-creepy Furby tattoo on my thigh is from the Body Art Hunt and is by Operate Bodyshop, and so it deserves a lack of pants, as suggested by my shirt by Oaken at IDK this month which you JUST have time to shop if you hurry!

Gosh, what sorcery is this, me blogging twice in the space of a week? I know, I've gotten out of my stride a bit. Partly because I haven't stayed dressed long enough to get attached to any outfit, which is honestly in fact less sexy than it sounds. Sorry.

One thing I keep coming back to when getting dressed is these shorts, by Addams at Collabor88. I got the fatpack and omg so many options. Colors of the shorts, the turnups, options to show and hide and texture the pockets, lots of options for the belt, and sizes and fits for all kinds of mesh bodies. The top is rather older and from Sn@tch, and goes really very well I think. 

My stunning rose tattoo is a prize from Tenjin on the upcoming Body Art Hunt, expect to see more about this is upcoming posts. I love how elegant and pretty and twirly it is all draped across the collarbone like a necklace. 

Look at my pretty kitty shades! They're by Atooly on the fun new event called Mix. The point in Mix is to get people into mainstores a bit more, and as the name suggests, it's a mix of things, there's are three categories of thing - Sale, New, and Exclusive, and there's a color-coded HUD that teleports you around. My gorgeous shoes are by Lassitude & Ennui for Mix too, they have such a beautiful light floral texture and drapey bows on the back <3

The case I'm holding is no ordinary little case! It's by Little Llama and is an art case! The exterior is color-change to Camp Hardknock cabin colors, and the rezzable version contains drawing animations and selectable original artwork by ME! Also some others, and also you can add your own. But what's also awesome is, for right now, it's free! :D

As I was writing this post last night, we received the heartbreaking news that Amy (Scarlet Chandrayaan in SL, owner of Alouette) lost her battle with cancer. It was for Amy that the Leaf on the Wind fundraiser was held (which I covered a little here), though she never was well enough to visit London. Amy and I were not close friends, but she touched my life and the lives of hundreds of others in SL, and on Plurk, with her kindness and strength, with her good humour and talent, with her grace and just being really, genuinely, truly good. I cannot pay enough tribute to her. She was an incredibly beloved young woman who was taken too soon and will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew her.

A couple weeks back there was crazy mad excitement on Plurk when Redd Columbia announced she would be bringing back her store, RC Cluster, and with all the old faves remade in mesh, to boot! After an initial exciting Fifty Linden Friday release of some fun and delicious glue and an awesome karaoke machine, the next wave of products is out and I'm starting with the crutches and cast set! 

These beautifully detailed crutches have a built-in AO for all your hopping needs, which includes some rather daring moves like the swinging I'm displaying in the top picture to take the strain off your good foot, as well as some more conventional keeping-the-cast-raised sort of standing. The cast you can wear comes in a Large or Small size and is signed or unsigned - here I'm wearing the unsigned because I'm a bit of a loner. A pro-tip - Even though my cutie shoes by Ingenue are rigged mesh, and so they cover both feet, I hid the one on my cast foot by editing with Select Face checked, and set the textures only on the left foot to 100% transparency. Just remember to set it back to 0 when you're done! The crutch and cast set is fantastic for RP purposes or if you just feel like you don't hop enough. 

My skirt is by Sn@tch and I love the little worn scuffy patch on it, makes me feel like perhaps I was wearing it when my unspecified leg accident befell me. My sweater is part of Bubble's new Pastel Goth release at Suicide Dollz, my grey one is covered in scaredy cats, but there are all sorts of light colours with designs like crosses, spiderwebs, bats and um...bows with eyeballs. 

I'm wearing a parted lips alpha by Kibitz, since I have finally figured out how to wear these things without looking completely derp. At least from the front. The is the new Vampy version from the summer round of Cosmetic Fair, the shading tattoo layer really sets them apart from a lot which are just an alpha, but between that and my hairbase, freckles, eyebrows and beautiful eye makeup by La Boheme, I NEED MORE TATTOO LAYERS. 

Behind me, on the wall, Atooly's Neon Heart Angel is available at The Fantasy Collective and is available in 3 colours and is going straight into my house after this!

Since yesterday I've been working on my Second Life house. It's something I do every few years - line up the walls, update the textures, replace fixtures. My house started out life as a fullperm freebie from like, 2004, which, over the years, my friends and I have added to and remodeled and generally made completely unrecognisable. Also completely unlinked and with different walls owned by different people... My big project this time around has been to replace all the textures with with new ones with various Materials stuff. That.....was not as easy as it should be, given the makeshift nature of the house, everything being at different rotations and, shock horror, SL being buggy as hell. But with some help from the very patient Allegory Malaprop, I have eventually triumphed. All the walls, interior and exterior are done, and I'm taking a little break from that.

Pink Fuel just released a huge update, with new bodies for several of the older skins, and appliers up-to-date to go with, in all the tones. This is very exciting for me because it gives me an excuse to dig out an old friend of a skin, Harley, in Porcelain, which has always been the most "me" tone from Pink Fuel. Not quite as healthy as Crystal and not quite as unhealthy as Vamp. The timing of all this is excellent too, because the alpha cuts on the Slink Physique weren't doing it for me for this classic Tres Blah blouse, so I switched to the Maitreya Lara body for this post, just in time for the release of Pink Fuel's extended line of Maitreya appliers!

I'm dabbling with tattoo eyebrows again, these are by Nox, and I really like that the texture of them isn't too dense or too skinny, but I think I still need to play around with the shape of them a little bit to get them to where I love them. 

My hair is by Olive from the recent TAG gacha event, and I really love the way the curls of it fall and the length of it, it frames the face so prettily. The skirt I'm wearing here is a new release from Goth1c0, which happens to be one of the non-freebie stores I ever owned something from in SL. The Purple Velvet Weirdo skirt is one of the tame options of this skirt from the Dark Style Fair, the majority of them having awesome brain or eye patterns on them!

If you hurry you can still pick up my fishy friend for 50L at silentsparrow, where it's out for Fifty Linden Fridays. There's a version who swims all around you, a version you can snuggle, and a version you can set out and just look at how pretty he is. 

Lately Bubble has been updating their older stuff to include current appliers (Omega, Slink Physique) etc, which means I get to play with another old love, these corset-laced armwarmers. I have some like these in real life too. Lots of them.

Lately I've been hanging out in Blithe a lot. It's a stunning pair of sims with lots of little areas for hanging out in and taking pictures and so on. Some of the pictures I've taken there are on my Flickr, directly from the SL viewer with no editing, that's how gorgeous the place is. A few days ago a new area opened up there, a bar in an old chapel, and I hurried on over, pausing only to throw together a suitable outfit, since it was an all-too-rare occasion for socializing. See I needed to be a bit casual, but also a bit shabby-chic elegant. I may be guilty of overthinking things a little.

So here's a thing I threw together or a refinement of same.

My lace shirt is something I've worn here before, in a different colour some months ago. It's by Nylon Outfitters and is an awesome little coverup, I'm a sucker for lace overlays and what have you. Underneath it is the supercute Jonquil chemise by Sn@tch, which has a lovely chintzy pattern in various colours. It's one of the things I've changed from my outfit since originally I was wearing the same undershirt as in my last post. But this one is lovely. I'm trying to accumulate long shirts on appliers for layering, it's sort of my bag.

My jeans are newly released from 20.Five and have previously been part of an SLX outfit bearing the same name, Tessa. These are a full version though, and come with a colour-change HUD with 5 different denim shades. I really like the fit of them and the highly defined wrinkles in them.

If you look really really close at my necklace you can see that the litttle tiiiny heart on it has a N on it. It's by Noodles at FaMESHed, and is so adorably dainty. Also, it has a HUD to change the letter, if for some reason you don't want an N on it...

My hair is part of a new set of released by Elikatira. I'm always excited when she puts out new stuff, even though it's so sporadically. There'll always be a part of me back in 2007 trying to bounce into the full region containing the big sales she'd sometimes hold with her old brand, ETD.
