My crowning achievement over the last few days is getting all of the Tres Blah and Second Spaces sets from this round of Arcade (barring the Rares, because I don't need that noise) and cramming them all together on my dressing table (actually some of it is scattered around the rest of my bedroom, but there's quite enough to cram). So proud that I've taken my life into my hands and gathered it all up to take to my photo studio because my bedroom is a little too chaotic for photography. I really don't like moving No Copy things in a big pile like this. So wish me luck when it's time to put it back.

The vanity table itself is actually an edited version of one I got from Wimey a while ago and doesn't seem to be available anymore, I dragged it around to make it deeper and wider, tinted it a bit and re-angled the mirror, to accommodate all my goodies. What I love about it is its proper shabby chic look all scuffed up and a bit grubby in a believable way like as if I use it all the time. 

Now, while I was scouring the yardsale for my cosmetics haul, I wore this satin kimono by Oaken, I side-brand of Noodles. Um, when I say I wore it, turns out I wore only it. I didn't discover this until the next day when I logged in. So oops. Anyone at those yardsales, you're welcome. Still it was a good look, I love the texture of this, so sensual and touchable and nice. It's available in four packs, each with six textures at FaMESHed. 

So as not to be obscene, I've paired it with these flower lace leggings by Insanya, another of their excellent applier conversions, which I really appreciate. It's great to be able to wear these old favourites on the Maitreya body like this. So as to be more sexy, I've worn these wonderful shoes by Ducknipple for Slink High feet. The Lissa heels come with 12 colours options in the HUD, I've gone with a nice dark purple here to contrast the eyemakeup I did a really poor job of capturing in my pics. 

If I sucked less and you could see it: it's an awesome black kohl eyeliner with big gold wings, by Weaponized Sugar at one of the events I'm excited to be covering for Seraphim, The Makeover Room. 

Oh also, I want to talk about this necklace for a minute! Everyone's going crazy wanting the bikini from Zaara's arcade machine, but nobody is talking about how amazingly this necklace fits! Yeah, I set my ambitions low, it's true, but srsly. For some reason usually I have to move and rotate necklaces, I have no idea why. But this? Look how it drapes on my boobs. It's perfect! Yay!

I've been playing Grand Theft Auto V for the last few days, as is the craze on Plurk. I played it on PS3 when it first came out, although it's more accurate to say that I assisted my husband. I'm good at the tedious bits. Not so much at the shooty bits. So I'm progressing rather slowly in the story mode, and in Online mode....let's just say I got distracted by the tedious bits. Right now, I've been concentrating on leveling my character's stamina. By cycling around the map a bunch of times on a really expensive yellow bicycle. I know, I'm lame. 

For my look today, I have attempted to recreate to look of my character in the game, and I think I did an okay job. Second Life Nivaya is rather more polished than GTA Nivaya, she also is, um, rather less mannish, shall we say. Because my goodness do female player models in GTA have the broadest shoulders.

The easiest part of my outfit was the glasses, I knew I had some fantastic decorated vintage cateye glasses by Yummy from a few rounds back of Colabor88. Next, the red skinny jeans. I was sure I had something in my inventory, but nothing was quite the right shade. My GTA character's pants are very very red, I've spent enough time looking at them while she's cycling to know how red they are. The ones I eventually bought were from Sakide, whose skinny jeans I'm a big fan of and I know she doesn't wimp out on the bright colours. 

Surprisingly much harder to track down was a black and white striped tank. I would have thought it was a fairly basic item, but I tried all my old standbys for basics and all of them turned up nothing. On my search I found a lovely yellow bike to pose with! Eventually Tee*fy came close enough to what I was looking for, it wasn't full-length or racerback, but I filled the gaps in with an applier tank. Also surprisingly tough to find were just the right kind of skate shoes.

I didn't expect to find exactly the right hair, and I wasn't disappointed. My GTA character's hair is a frizzy disaster, but this hair by Ploom paired with the awesome group gift hairband from Magika I think I've featured here before. It's incredibly versatile, colour-change AND tintable.

The hardest part was the pizza tattoo my GTA character has. Such a thing does not exist in SL as far as I could find. I asked if anyone could quickly make me a custom one with a Slink Physique applier, but nobody was free to do that and then someone reminded me about the Slink Personal HUD, which allows you to make your own tattoos and the like for personal use. After a Google image search and an unspecified amount of time in Photoshop, I dropped my texture into the HUD, and here I am with a completely appropriate pizza tattoo, yay! 

After that, all that was left to do was the makeup, a simple enough task with an inventory like mine (I speculated her polish would be chipped), and a gun, which I know nothing about and the Marketplace furnished me with something that looked more or less correct. And there I was. More or less the same person! Hooray!

Goodness, 100 posts already?! Well. I say "already", but this blog is actually ancient-ish, and for most of its life inactive. Most of those 100 posts have come in two stints, this year and last. This one feels most like I'm doing it right. I've got nice people who think I'm good enough to give me stuff (there's a list over there -->), I'm on a couple of feeds, I've got people who actually really do come and look at me, and most importantly of all, it doesn't feel like a chore.

Obligatory Hair Fair 2014 Post! Part Five: The End.

With only two days remaining of Hair Fair 2014, if you haven't gone already, omg, go*! Here's my last post 

of my favourites from this year's awesome hairy extravaganza.

Fashionably Dead - Momo: Before I started playing Second Life, whenever I created a character in anything, she'd basically have this hair. Shoulder-length, center parted, wavy in a kind of messy way. My brains looks at that style and goes "yes, that's me", even though my hair isn't in the least bit wavy. My brain is dumb like that. I also really love the richness of Fashionably Dead's textures, this red makes me happy.
Ploom - Carrie: Reminds me of an old ETD hair I had that I used to wear all the time, except for one little detail that just delights the hell out of me. At the front left, where that one strand goes up and over  the part across the forehead, when traditionally it'd go neatly under. That little crossover bit there, that is amazing, I love it up.
Ploom - Honey: I actually completely avoided the whole Lady Gaga-based hairbows fad of a few years ago, so for me this is a sweet and fresh take on a formal-ish updo. Plus this is a little more dainty and compact, which is cute. The band is included and has a HUD to change the metal and the colours of the blossoms on it.
Ploom - Plasma: A classic long wavy style with rounded rockabilly pinup bangs. It can be worn with or without the adorable bow, which as above is HUD controlled, and comes in a billion colours and polkadots and such. If I wasn't a redhead, I could even Minnie Mouse my bow up in red with white polkadots.

Exile - Young and Beautiful: I don't know what it is about this hair, maybe it's the placement of the hairline or the crown of the head, but I really do look young and beautiful in this hair. Like, in a tiny babyfaced Selina Gomez sort of way. It's kind of entirely lovely.
ExXeSs - Libussa: While ExXeSs isn't a new brand for me (I remember doing a writeup for their stuff for a fashion show way back in 2008), I only discovered that they do hair like, a month ago, which really suggests I should pay more attention, because this hair is really nice. It has a good dynamic energetic feel to it without being like a "special effects" hair. The reds pack here had like 30000 different shades of red, a really wide spectrum, plus fades and dips, which was really nice, and the hair clip is also texture-change.
MaiOwn - Lizz: I have to admit, what initially drew me to this hair was the incredible shade of blue in the demo and the vendor pic. Seriously, that bluey tealy fade down into brown is like.....wow. I, however, am a redhead, and I have no regrets about my choice, blue or not, it's an excellent style, with good volume and an unusual structure.
Little Bones - Pavillion: I have been loving Little Bones so hard lately. I bought this style without even demoing it, I was just like "okay, Yes" when the vendor pic finally rezzed. So the little braid behind the left ear was a wonderful surprise when I actually did try it on when I got home.

Finally, Wasabi Pills - Midori: Beautiful ringlet curls, and braids next to the face 5eva. Gets to be on it's own because I bought a number of hairs not divisible by four, and also because I was blinking when I took this pic, which makes her look tired, which is what I also am at the end of these posts.
