The excellent Leaf on the Wind fundraiser (which I blogged here) event ended a couple of days ago, culminating in the Million Linden Party, during the course of which, the fundraiser's ultimate total of one million L$ was reached, plus a few, for a full total of L$1,018,699. This money will go to the amazing and sweet Scarlet Chandaryan of Alouette, for her bucket-list trip to London (and maybe a little over for Disneyland Paris!). I went to said party, and had a wonderful time hanging out with assorted wonderful people I know from Plurk and this is more or less what I wore:

First I have to talk about this hair, because omg. This hair. I QUESTED for this hair. It all started innocently enough when I was doing Fifty Linden Friday Kids, on Friday, and one store I was at also had a yardsale, which, being a compulsive sort of person, of course I checked out. There was a boxed hair without a picture, so I googled it, and INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE. Alas, the hair in the yardsale was not my colour. So I took to the Marketplace, which is my sekrit weapon for getting gacha stuff. The "Used Items" category there often yeilds what I'm looking for before I have to start schlepping all over the yardsales. this time though, it let me down, and so the schlepping commenced. I like to find my yardsales by simply typing into search the name of the item I'm looking for. I guess there's something in the Search that indexes objects that are there in the area or something? Because quite often it works very well, especially on more obscure items. And via this method, I found copies of the hair in colours to suit both Persephone Paine and hyasynth Tiramisu, and gifted them accordingly, because ugh, omg, this hair - and both of them tried to help me find it. So good. But nothing in my colour, anywhere. I was trying different variations of my search terms, and just finding myself at the same locations over and over, I tried at the mainstore, I tried searching for the event it had been in (and I'd shopped that event! I remember it! TAG gacha! How did I miss this hair?!), I teleported around for hours looking for this damn hair. Eventually, as can be surmised by me wearing the hair, I found a sale which had it, and for a great low price, and then, when I started looking around that sale, found another vendor also had it, twice, for 10L less than I had paid for it too! So yeah. I really like this hair. You'll be seeing it again on me. 

As for the rest of my outfit: The top is an Omega applier by Arise, from Fi*Fridays, the skirt by Gato from the most recent round of My Attic, which you've just missed, I'm sorry I'm lazy and don't post things when I intend to! I'm also sorry (but totally not sorry) that I wear this lipstick by Nox so much. But it's amazing, with the gold cupid's bow and sheer but bold colour. I think this is my third time wearing it for a post now. But always different colours, because I'm cool. 

My tattoos I've actually also worn before on this blog, but previously only one sleeve. That's a feature that I miss from the Slink Physique body that the Maitreya Lara doesn't have. The ability to wear individual arms of a tattoo - or omit them entirely! My bag is by Ane and was at Leaf on the Wind, and my boots are sn@tch, from one of their amazing Fish For This outfits, but are available separately too. 

Finally for my decor, what could be more stereotypically British (when celebrating an event for a trip to London) than tea? Well tons of things, WE'RE ABOUT MORE THAN THE TEA, YOU KNOW. But anyway I've never had an excuse before to use these lovely Tres Blah Tea Time bits and pieces from some Arcades back. Yardsales, yo.

Just as I was taking these pictures it started to snow here, so now I feel vicariously freezing looking at how my avatar's dressed. It didn't start out so chilly-looking, in fact, the hair I'm wearing by Moon at the winter round of The Seasons Story incorporates an awesome texture-change scarf, but then it covered my fantastic tattoo by Insanya. The tattoo is actually even better at the back, with a more intricate tribal pattern, and stars down the spine, but this is the last day of this round of Project Limited, and it's a limited edition so, y'know. Hurry. 

I adore the tiered skirt here by Amiable, it also includes a fully see-through version that can be worn with leggings and so on. It's the sort of skirt I would wear in RL if I was more of a skirt-wearer. On my legs are tights although you can't really tell because my skin is so pale anyway, but they are a group gift from Izzie's, and the hearts on the knees come in various colour options, they are so cute. 

My shoes are by Bliensen+MaiTai and were in this round of 21Shoe, so unfortunately you can't get them in this gorgeous red anymore, sorry, I'm a horrible tease. But if you're very lucky you can get this halo I'm wearing by Noodles. It's an UltraRare from the gacha at The Secret Affair, which, again, closes today, so gogogo! So many things, so little time!

I've been a bit eaten by Minecraft these last few days. We've been excavating an underwater monument, which involves building mile-high sand walls around a gigantic underwater castle thing, and then smaller walls within that, and sopping up the water in the smaller sections with sponges, because fuck physics, and all the time being shot at by evil pointy fishes with lasers on their faces. You can surely see how absorbing this can get. 

Uhh soo anywayy.

My plaid corset by Sn@tch has an appropriately nipped-in waist, which you can't really see well here, and lacing at the back, that is to say, it's got some actual corset-like structure, rather than just being a bustier of sorts. 

The jeans I'm wearing here are from Ducknipple's latest SLX outfit, Gwen, a full outfit including accessories and shoes and a colour change shirt, available at a promo price right now of 100L. 

I discovered via Plurk the other day that all of Letis Tattoos tattoos have been updated to include Omega system appliers, and updated versions can be obtained through the update terminals in store, so I gleefully nabbed new versions of everything I have from there and can now wear them with my Maitreya Lara body, yay! Although I will admit it got a little complicated with this particular tattoo, since I still wear Slink hands, so I needed to first wear the Omega/Lara relay, the Lara HUD to make the tattoos visible, and the Omega applier for the tattoos themselves, and then the Slink hands utilities HUD to show hand tattoos, and then the applier for the hand tattoos....Phew! HUD overload much. Still I'm not going to complain if it means I can still wear my lovely tattoos that I already have.

Finally, my barette. You can't have it. Not yet, anyway. It's a special shiny preview from next month's (February) round of Collabor88, where silentsparrow will be a Guest Designer. Yay!

I've been running around as a kid the last few days. I tweaked my face around quite a lot and am so pleased with the end result, I've been running round buying kids clothes like crazy.

So my jeans, my TD has been wearing for months, since I last brought her out to play, and they're applier-based and so I needed to search for what they were. Turns out they're by S.O Cute, a store which lives up to its name admirably, and these excellent applier-based jeans are a steal at only 15L$. 

My cozy (and honestly, after all the tacky Christmas sweaters this winter, rather tasteful) sweater is by Just Kidding and my boots are a Rare from Ugly Duckling's gacha at this round of Woodland Treasures gacha event. They've got a little bow on the back, so adorable!

The scarf is actually part of an adults outfit I've blogged part of before - Sakide's Thermal outfit, but shrunk down. I like how nicely it coordinates with the boots. 

My lamb friend is by the always precious silentsparrow, at this round of Kawaii Project. The lambs themselves come in various colours and the bows change via a hud too and there's a yellow bow because hya loves me. Also it's all knitty and woolly, and see the little key on its back? When you click that, it plays (slightly creepy) original music box style music.

I don't need no excuse to cosplay Ariel.

This rad sketch-style skater dress is by Noodles at Geeks n Nerds Fair and comes in various themes including Disney Princesses, Hogwarts uniforms, and Star Wars, and they are all amazing quirky love. 

The hair I got in Olive's amazing 75% off Black Friday sale (sadly now over) is PERFECT with it, and I'm wearing Fri.day's wellies from Kawaii Project because I don't want to get my feet wet. Though that's Splash! lore, I guess.

The necklace which is a dead ringer for Ursula/Vanessa's in The Little Mermaid was actually a freebie from Erare, the mermaidy side project at Celoe. It might still be there even. 

About my lip colour - it's from Nova Bodyshop, which is still relatively um....nova - and honestly their lipsticks are some of the best value on the grid if you own one or more mesh mouths. You get like 10 or more system layer lip colours within a colour family, plus appliers for Loud Mouth AND Nyam Nyam, all for usually about L$100, and as you can see, they're wonderful quality. 

My fishy companions are both from silentsparrow but separately. The one on the right is from the Elemen-Tails gacha machine, the other is a plushie available in the normal buying sort of way. They are each lovely though.

Not everyone was set up yet when I visited the blogger's preview of the Geeks n Nerds fair, but there was plenty there to keep my geeky nerdy wallet occupied - it's an event I've been looking forward to since I first heard about it a month or so ago.

My dress is my Katat0nik and is available in various bright colours who assorted comicbook onomatopoeic sound effects emblazoned across the front. Here I am wearing the rather nonstandard BSOD, which I forbade Persephone Paine over at Dressing in Pixels to wear because she has a Mac and thus does not understand the torment of the Blue Screen of Death. It has binary code on the sleeves which my husband pointed out hexadecimal would be more appropriate and I pointed out that he sucks. It was a good exchange. Anyway the dress is fitted mesh, and rigged to fit the Slink Physique mesh body, which is rad.

Also rad are my nails, which are by Fetch and look like rupees from the Legend of Zelda games, and my cool Yoshi-inspired earrings from Frogstar - part of a line including matching necklaces and nail appliers available at Geeks n Nerds.

My hair is blue because I wanted it to be (it is in RL too!), but I left my stubble red because Niv is after all a true redhead. The facial tattoos by Wicked Peach I chose as an elegant alternative to piercings. 

Second Spaces as always hits the mark for humorous everyday clutter with the excellent box of junk you see at my feet, which I have paired for aesthetic value with an older item of hers, a broken monitor.

Geeks n Nerds Fair opens to the public at midnight SLT on November 24th 2014.
