Ohai, remember when I used to blog? Yeah, me either, but here I am, smaller than ever! Various changes have occurred, various busy-ness and family-ness and other excuses, which have led me to decide to switch my the focus of my blog to kids stuff, since I've been a grownup, idk, 5 times since I last posted back in August. So if you were here for the occasional sideboob I'd throw out there, soz, you're out of luck, I'm cute now.

So yesterday I went to a party, which isn't as rare an occurrence as it used to be, and it was a Dia de los Muertos party and seriously, any excuse to dress for that (see: last year). Added to that, the single biggest thing I miss now that I'm mostly a kid, is wearing makeup, and this is ideal. The millions of layers we can now wear really helps with this - my sugar skull makeup is from La Boheme and actually comprises 3 individually tintable layers, which are available in various transparencies too, for a whole lot of color customization options. With it, in my face pic, you can see this amazing gold under-eye liner made by takagigraves, owner of Oleander, some years ago, and isn't actually available to buy. He mentioned it on Plurk as I was writing this and Iwaslike "OMGYAAAASSS" and politely demanded it and retook the one pic. I love the extra dimension it adds. 

My flower headbands are by Cosmic Dust and I completely love. My earrings are from Schadenfreude, from the Pearl Mori set. The top of my dress is from a halloween costume I was wearing, Ariel Day Dress by tinyOwl, but I thought it went well for the look I was going for here. The skirt is by Ugly Ducking, and is in two pieces, I ran into a friend wearing it and instantly hurried out to get it myself, in several colors. I have no shame. The tights are by Turducken, bought in a flurry of tights-excitement as the weather got colder, and my boots, oh man, I hope they release more of. They're by Dappers and Darlings at Limited 50, and are all Halloween-themed but they're so nicely made, I love them. The Materials on them is great.

Still alive! I'm sure nobody was actually concerned but here's a reassurance anyway, I live, and if my outfit is anything to go by, so does grunge.

First off though, I am so very excited about the newest version of Firestorm, which includes all sorts of good things, but particularly the new Layer Limits which allows you instead of, 5 jackets, 5 alphas, 5 socks, and so on, a total of 60 of any combination of system clothing layer. For us mesh body wearers, what this means is, ALL THE MAKEUP, since we're basically otherwise just wearing like, an alpha or two. Sooo the effect is a bit subtle but I have PILED on the auxiliary face tattoos. I've got extra moles, and a thing that makes my nose more buttony, and TWOOOOO eyemakeups, and a lipstick AND a shader to make my open mouth look more natural. AND THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING. Seriously I am mad excited about this.

I ended up dressing like a moody teen from getting dressed around my SL mom, Christa Echos. This put me in an understandably rebellious mood, and then we went to Kustom9, which, idk if this was official or planned, but seemed to have a nice 90s grunge motif going on, and that's where I got the plaid shirt and cropped top combo by Amitomo, the tank includes a color-change HUD too. My hair by Olive and shorts by Monso are from where we went next, Shiny Shabby, and were serious must-have items.

My boots I have actually featured before, by Bubble, and are appropriately called My Fav Boots.

A few weeks back, before this round of Arcade started, I was hitting up all the yardsales because I'd just discovered D-Lab's incredible Piccoli set from March's Arcade round. Don't judge, I was on vay-cay throughout March. Anyway I'd seen them on hya's platform and was like :O when I saw they little dude interact with two things, and I resolved to get LOTS OF THEM. Which I did. And they're all set up in a hidden location at the bottom of my garden and are lovely. Then this round happened, and the D-lab's Pippip birds. I am doomed. My little red friend here flies from tree to ladder and all points between, and there so many points between in my inventory waiting for me to set them up.

You might notice my hair is looking unusually natural today, that is because I bought the wrong pack of Olive's Powder hair at Uber, and the streaks are more reds, but ugh LOOK how beautifully it blends in, it's like, really really natural, I love it, and the shape of this hair at the back - it just falls like natural long hair, into wispy wavy bits, it's really really well done. It makes me miss my RL really long hair but then mine never looked as good at this. 

The theme of this round's Uber event is India, and my tattoos by Identity are not from Uber, but I'm pretty sure I bought them directly after being at Uber, so it's like a indirect influencing thing I guess. I actually bought them while I was on my search for cute tattoos that I mentioned in my last post, and there are matching versions for the legs too which I'm not wearing right now. 

My dress is by Oaken for Collabor88, I adore the neckline of it and the tightness of the top versus the open-sided skirt, it's got a certain timelessness to it and seems very comfy and casual to wear, I almost didn't wear shoes with it, But then I did, these are by Livalle and I've had them for a while but they're a nice classic shoe.

I had a birthday the other day! I got a new computer for it! It's nice, I pushed my old one too hard really, but the shadows on this one are crisper anyway, so that's cool. Anyway when it was my birthday there was a nice little beach party for me and here's what I wore to it and subsequently the next 3 days because I've been busy/procrastinatingy. Also because it's rad to run around in a bikini when you look this good.

The bikini itself is soooo cute and by Bubble, released last year but still so cute for this summer, especially if you never got that Rare Zaara bikini from Arcade. I actually totally did, but I didn't want to be a cliche. I needed REALLY cute tattoos to go with it though, and after asking around, settled on these Sailor Moon themed ones from Antielle, which tick all kinds of boxes, being colourful and cute, available in various levels of fadedness, and still being kind of badass. Very happy with them indeed. 

While I didn't wear the infamous Arcade bikini, my hair is from this round of Arcade, by Spellbound, and is lovely, the scarfy bit hangs down at the back nicely, and the other version of it in the machine has a lovely big bow at the front, and each pack comes with looooads of hair colours AND band patterns. Also from Arcade, the towel rack, by Snips & Snails, which after this picture is going next to my rooftop pool. The pool noodles right next to me are from a different gacha machine, at The Play Room, the McKids machine there has a big pop-up pool with great animations in it as the Rare, so I ended up with a whoooole lot of noodles.

My shoes are by Ducknipple and are admittedly a little precarious for the beach, but for tottering around SL in a bikini, perfect! As ever, they include a color-change hud with like, 12 options in it for good matching. My nails are by Alaska Metropolitan who continues to be some of the best value in SL with the whole pack being 25L for so many nice designs and colors for so many different nail appliers.

My crowning achievement over the last few days is getting all of the Tres Blah and Second Spaces sets from this round of Arcade (barring the Rares, because I don't need that noise) and cramming them all together on my dressing table (actually some of it is scattered around the rest of my bedroom, but there's quite enough to cram). So proud that I've taken my life into my hands and gathered it all up to take to my photo studio because my bedroom is a little too chaotic for photography. I really don't like moving No Copy things in a big pile like this. So wish me luck when it's time to put it back.

The vanity table itself is actually an edited version of one I got from Wimey a while ago and doesn't seem to be available anymore, I dragged it around to make it deeper and wider, tinted it a bit and re-angled the mirror, to accommodate all my goodies. What I love about it is its proper shabby chic look all scuffed up and a bit grubby in a believable way like as if I use it all the time. 

Now, while I was scouring the yardsale for my cosmetics haul, I wore this satin kimono by Oaken, I side-brand of Noodles. Um, when I say I wore it, turns out I wore only it. I didn't discover this until the next day when I logged in. So oops. Anyone at those yardsales, you're welcome. Still it was a good look, I love the texture of this, so sensual and touchable and nice. It's available in four packs, each with six textures at FaMESHed. 

So as not to be obscene, I've paired it with these flower lace leggings by Insanya, another of their excellent applier conversions, which I really appreciate. It's great to be able to wear these old favourites on the Maitreya body like this. So as to be more sexy, I've worn these wonderful shoes by Ducknipple for Slink High feet. The Lissa heels come with 12 colours options in the HUD, I've gone with a nice dark purple here to contrast the eyemakeup I did a really poor job of capturing in my pics. 

If I sucked less and you could see it: it's an awesome black kohl eyeliner with big gold wings, by Weaponized Sugar at one of the events I'm excited to be covering for Seraphim, The Makeover Room. 

Oh also, I want to talk about this necklace for a minute! Everyone's going crazy wanting the bikini from Zaara's arcade machine, but nobody is talking about how amazingly this necklace fits! Yeah, I set my ambitions low, it's true, but srsly. For some reason usually I have to move and rotate necklaces, I have no idea why. But this? Look how it drapes on my boobs. It's perfect! Yay!

As I was writing this post last night, we received the heartbreaking news that Amy (Scarlet Chandrayaan in SL, owner of Alouette) lost her battle with cancer. It was for Amy that the Leaf on the Wind fundraiser was held (which I covered a little here), though she never was well enough to visit London. Amy and I were not close friends, but she touched my life and the lives of hundreds of others in SL, and on Plurk, with her kindness and strength, with her good humour and talent, with her grace and just being really, genuinely, truly good. I cannot pay enough tribute to her. She was an incredibly beloved young woman who was taken too soon and will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew her.

A couple weeks back there was crazy mad excitement on Plurk when Redd Columbia announced she would be bringing back her store, RC Cluster, and with all the old faves remade in mesh, to boot! After an initial exciting Fifty Linden Friday release of some fun and delicious glue and an awesome karaoke machine, the next wave of products is out and I'm starting with the crutches and cast set! 

These beautifully detailed crutches have a built-in AO for all your hopping needs, which includes some rather daring moves like the swinging I'm displaying in the top picture to take the strain off your good foot, as well as some more conventional keeping-the-cast-raised sort of standing. The cast you can wear comes in a Large or Small size and is signed or unsigned - here I'm wearing the unsigned because I'm a bit of a loner. A pro-tip - Even though my cutie shoes by Ingenue are rigged mesh, and so they cover both feet, I hid the one on my cast foot by editing with Select Face checked, and set the textures only on the left foot to 100% transparency. Just remember to set it back to 0 when you're done! The crutch and cast set is fantastic for RP purposes or if you just feel like you don't hop enough. 

My skirt is by Sn@tch and I love the little worn scuffy patch on it, makes me feel like perhaps I was wearing it when my unspecified leg accident befell me. My sweater is part of Bubble's new Pastel Goth release at Suicide Dollz, my grey one is covered in scaredy cats, but there are all sorts of light colours with designs like crosses, spiderwebs, bats and um...bows with eyeballs. 

I'm wearing a parted lips alpha by Kibitz, since I have finally figured out how to wear these things without looking completely derp. At least from the front. The is the new Vampy version from the summer round of Cosmetic Fair, the shading tattoo layer really sets them apart from a lot which are just an alpha, but between that and my hairbase, freckles, eyebrows and beautiful eye makeup by La Boheme, I NEED MORE TATTOO LAYERS.
