Goodness, look at me, wearing clothes intended for adults! Incredible! Not just any grownups clothes, grownups clothes that are coordinated! See the part where my dress matches my shoes. I'm terribly fancy. My tasty vintage dress and shoes combo is from GDit, a new mainstore release. The Dinner Party Set includes a fitted mesh dress for standard and mesh bodies, and shoes to fit both Slink and Maitreya feet. It includes not only the cream with coffee accents I'm wearing here, but also a rich coffee with cream detailing of both, and indeed made me want coffee. The iced coffee I'm carrying is from the Gilded Cage gacha by Tres Blah, from the round of Arcade which has just ended. It's almost my drink of choice from Starbucks - an iced mocha, with no whip. And an extra shot. But this seems milkier than I want. Ah well. 

I'm really enjoying being able to wear makeup again. It's a little more of a challenge trying to find new makeup these days for us stubborn types of don't wear a mesh head, but I'm still having a lot of fun finding new-to-me places that offer tattoo layer makeup. I especially love this lipstick from Shiny Stuffs, who now mostly make stuff for Catwa, but have quite a few system cosmetics, and the pouty shape of these red pinup lips is just glorious. I've also been wearing a lot of Veechi makeup lately, here, eyeliner, which I've paired with glitter from an old favorite of mine, Nox. 

My backdrop here is a rather neat gacha set from Culco from earlier this year, Street Sartorial, it comprises various bits of London-inspired street furniture - wall facades, railings, sidewalks, streetlamps, that sort of thing, and is super-useful for photography sets, I love that this sort of thing is becoming more common.

Still alive! I'm sure nobody was actually concerned but here's a reassurance anyway, I live, and if my outfit is anything to go by, so does grunge.

First off though, I am so very excited about the newest version of Firestorm, which includes all sorts of good things, but particularly the new Layer Limits which allows you instead of, 5 jackets, 5 alphas, 5 socks, and so on, a total of 60 of any combination of system clothing layer. For us mesh body wearers, what this means is, ALL THE MAKEUP, since we're basically otherwise just wearing like, an alpha or two. Sooo the effect is a bit subtle but I have PILED on the auxiliary face tattoos. I've got extra moles, and a thing that makes my nose more buttony, and TWOOOOO eyemakeups, and a lipstick AND a shader to make my open mouth look more natural. AND THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING. Seriously I am mad excited about this.

I ended up dressing like a moody teen from getting dressed around my SL mom, Christa Echos. This put me in an understandably rebellious mood, and then we went to Kustom9, which, idk if this was official or planned, but seemed to have a nice 90s grunge motif going on, and that's where I got the plaid shirt and cropped top combo by Amitomo, the tank includes a color-change HUD too. My hair by Olive and shorts by Monso are from where we went next, Shiny Shabby, and were serious must-have items.

My boots I have actually featured before, by Bubble, and are appropriately called My Fav Boots.

My crowning achievement over the last few days is getting all of the Tres Blah and Second Spaces sets from this round of Arcade (barring the Rares, because I don't need that noise) and cramming them all together on my dressing table (actually some of it is scattered around the rest of my bedroom, but there's quite enough to cram). So proud that I've taken my life into my hands and gathered it all up to take to my photo studio because my bedroom is a little too chaotic for photography. I really don't like moving No Copy things in a big pile like this. So wish me luck when it's time to put it back.

The vanity table itself is actually an edited version of one I got from Wimey a while ago and doesn't seem to be available anymore, I dragged it around to make it deeper and wider, tinted it a bit and re-angled the mirror, to accommodate all my goodies. What I love about it is its proper shabby chic look all scuffed up and a bit grubby in a believable way like as if I use it all the time. 

Now, while I was scouring the yardsale for my cosmetics haul, I wore this satin kimono by Oaken, I side-brand of Noodles. Um, when I say I wore it, turns out I wore only it. I didn't discover this until the next day when I logged in. So oops. Anyone at those yardsales, you're welcome. Still it was a good look, I love the texture of this, so sensual and touchable and nice. It's available in four packs, each with six textures at FaMESHed. 

So as not to be obscene, I've paired it with these flower lace leggings by Insanya, another of their excellent applier conversions, which I really appreciate. It's great to be able to wear these old favourites on the Maitreya body like this. So as to be more sexy, I've worn these wonderful shoes by Ducknipple for Slink High feet. The Lissa heels come with 12 colours options in the HUD, I've gone with a nice dark purple here to contrast the eyemakeup I did a really poor job of capturing in my pics. 

If I sucked less and you could see it: it's an awesome black kohl eyeliner with big gold wings, by Weaponized Sugar at one of the events I'm excited to be covering for Seraphim, The Makeover Room. 

Oh also, I want to talk about this necklace for a minute! Everyone's going crazy wanting the bikini from Zaara's arcade machine, but nobody is talking about how amazingly this necklace fits! Yeah, I set my ambitions low, it's true, but srsly. For some reason usually I have to move and rotate necklaces, I have no idea why. But this? Look how it drapes on my boobs. It's perfect! Yay!

Since yesterday I've been working on my Second Life house. It's something I do every few years - line up the walls, update the textures, replace fixtures. My house started out life as a fullperm freebie from like, 2004, which, over the years, my friends and I have added to and remodeled and generally made completely unrecognisable. Also completely unlinked and with different walls owned by different people... My big project this time around has been to replace all the textures with with new ones with various Materials stuff. That.....was not as easy as it should be, given the makeshift nature of the house, everything being at different rotations and, shock horror, SL being buggy as hell. But with some help from the very patient Allegory Malaprop, I have eventually triumphed. All the walls, interior and exterior are done, and I'm taking a little break from that.

Pink Fuel just released a huge update, with new bodies for several of the older skins, and appliers up-to-date to go with, in all the tones. This is very exciting for me because it gives me an excuse to dig out an old friend of a skin, Harley, in Porcelain, which has always been the most "me" tone from Pink Fuel. Not quite as healthy as Crystal and not quite as unhealthy as Vamp. The timing of all this is excellent too, because the alpha cuts on the Slink Physique weren't doing it for me for this classic Tres Blah blouse, so I switched to the Maitreya Lara body for this post, just in time for the release of Pink Fuel's extended line of Maitreya appliers!

I'm dabbling with tattoo eyebrows again, these are by Nox, and I really like that the texture of them isn't too dense or too skinny, but I think I still need to play around with the shape of them a little bit to get them to where I love them. 

My hair is by Olive from the recent TAG gacha event, and I really love the way the curls of it fall and the length of it, it frames the face so prettily. The skirt I'm wearing here is a new release from Goth1c0, which happens to be one of the non-freebie stores I ever owned something from in SL. The Purple Velvet Weirdo skirt is one of the tame options of this skirt from the Dark Style Fair, the majority of them having awesome brain or eye patterns on them!

If you hurry you can still pick up my fishy friend for 50L at silentsparrow, where it's out for Fifty Linden Fridays. There's a version who swims all around you, a version you can snuggle, and a version you can set out and just look at how pretty he is. 

Lately Bubble has been updating their older stuff to include current appliers (Omega, Slink Physique) etc, which means I get to play with another old love, these corset-laced armwarmers. I have some like these in real life too. Lots of them.

The excellent Leaf on the Wind fundraiser (which I blogged here) event ended a couple of days ago, culminating in the Million Linden Party, during the course of which, the fundraiser's ultimate total of one million L$ was reached, plus a few, for a full total of L$1,018,699. This money will go to the amazing and sweet Scarlet Chandaryan of Alouette, for her bucket-list trip to London (and maybe a little over for Disneyland Paris!). I went to said party, and had a wonderful time hanging out with assorted wonderful people I know from Plurk and this is more or less what I wore:

First I have to talk about this hair, because omg. This hair. I QUESTED for this hair. It all started innocently enough when I was doing Fifty Linden Friday Kids, on Friday, and one store I was at also had a yardsale, which, being a compulsive sort of person, of course I checked out. There was a boxed hair without a picture, so I googled it, and INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE. Alas, the hair in the yardsale was not my colour. So I took to the Marketplace, which is my sekrit weapon for getting gacha stuff. The "Used Items" category there often yeilds what I'm looking for before I have to start schlepping all over the yardsales. this time though, it let me down, and so the schlepping commenced. I like to find my yardsales by simply typing into search the name of the item I'm looking for. I guess there's something in the Search that indexes objects that are there in the area or something? Because quite often it works very well, especially on more obscure items. And via this method, I found copies of the hair in colours to suit both Persephone Paine and hyasynth Tiramisu, and gifted them accordingly, because ugh, omg, this hair - and both of them tried to help me find it. So good. But nothing in my colour, anywhere. I was trying different variations of my search terms, and just finding myself at the same locations over and over, I tried at the mainstore, I tried searching for the event it had been in (and I'd shopped that event! I remember it! TAG gacha! How did I miss this hair?!), I teleported around for hours looking for this damn hair. Eventually, as can be surmised by me wearing the hair, I found a sale which had it, and for a great low price, and then, when I started looking around that sale, found another vendor also had it, twice, for 10L less than I had paid for it too! So yeah. I really like this hair. You'll be seeing it again on me. 

As for the rest of my outfit: The top is an Omega applier by Arise, from Fi*Fridays, the skirt by Gato from the most recent round of My Attic, which you've just missed, I'm sorry I'm lazy and don't post things when I intend to! I'm also sorry (but totally not sorry) that I wear this lipstick by Nox so much. But it's amazing, with the gold cupid's bow and sheer but bold colour. I think this is my third time wearing it for a post now. But always different colours, because I'm cool. 

My tattoos I've actually also worn before on this blog, but previously only one sleeve. That's a feature that I miss from the Slink Physique body that the Maitreya Lara doesn't have. The ability to wear individual arms of a tattoo - or omit them entirely! My bag is by Ane and was at Leaf on the Wind, and my boots are sn@tch, from one of their amazing Fish For This outfits, but are available separately too. 

Finally for my decor, what could be more stereotypically British (when celebrating an event for a trip to London) than tea? Well tons of things, WE'RE ABOUT MORE THAN THE TEA, YOU KNOW. But anyway I've never had an excuse before to use these lovely Tres Blah Tea Time bits and pieces from some Arcades back. Yardsales, yo.
